Presentation description:
May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month and we want to use this month to bring more awareness about the disease through education. Skin cancer can be serious, expensive, and sometimes even deadly. Skin cancer is by far the most common type of cancer, with cases continuing to increase in the United States. Fortunately, most skin cancers can be prevented.
The Arizona Department of Health Services’ SunWise Program focuses on teaching sun safe behaviors as well as Skin Cancer Prevention. The SunWise program will cover sun-safe strategies for protecting your employees from the dangerous Ultraviolet rays. With Americans spending more than half of their time at work, the workplace is probably the best environment to educate employees, regardless of whether they work outside or indoors.
Session participants will learn about:
• Skin Cancer facts, risk factors, and prevalence
• How to prevent skin cancer
• How to promote sun safety within workplace
