Latest in Thyroid and Endocrine Cancers

Presentation description:

The rates of thyroid and endocrine cancers are on the rise and having the right treatment early is important. In this webinar, we will discuss how cancer affects the thyroid, a gland at the base of the throat. We will also explain the different types of thyroid cancers, incidence rates locally and nationally, and share available treatment options.

As with most cancer treatment, conventional therapy including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery are options in treating thyroid cancers, but there are also many alternative and novel approaches to treating thyroid and endocrine cancers that we will explore in our time together.

Session participants will learn about:

  • The types of thyroid cancer
  • Statewide and national incidence rates
  • Prognosis and work up for thyroid cancer
  • Treatment options for thyroid cancer
  • The role of a multidisciplinary team in the treatment of thyroid cancer
  • How employers can support employees undergoing thyroid cancer treatment
