HAWP Application Deadline: April 30th, 2024

Ask the Expert – Answers to your Breast Cancer Questions

October is breast cancer awareness month and we want use this month to bring more awareness about the disease through education. For many of us, breast cancer has touched a neighbor, a co-worker, a friend, a family member, and maybe even us. There are so many questions we all hear about breast cancer that we may or may not have answers to. It is important to get those questions answered by a trusted, reliable source, like a physician.

Dr. Wendt will cover some of the common and uncommon questions many have about breast cancer – the causes, risk factors, symptoms and treatment options. He will give clarity to whether antiperspirant or wearing underwire bras cause breast cancer. Many have heard that even mammograms can cause cancer. Do they? Does family history of breast cancer increase one’s chances of being diagnosed with the disease?

The questions are many and having a reliable source is important.

The workplace is one of the best places to get answers to many of these questions. Employers and HR experts are in a unique position to increase awareness and education about breast cancer screening, diagnosis, and treatment. Join us as we learn about the disease and ways to support women (and men) fighting breast cancer.

Session participants will:

  • Get informed on the causes, risk factors and symptoms related to breast cancer
  • Review screening best practices and breast cancer diagnosis
  • Take a look at treatment options available at all stages of diagnosis
  • Learn how to get involved and support those facing breast cancer
