Heat Safety Tips

Presentation description:

Arizona’s summer heat is upon us and with it come triple digit temperatures that last through September. The high temperatures increase the risk for heat-related illnesses like heat exhaustion and heat stroke. The good news is that heat-related illness is preventable. Staff from the Office of Environmental Health at the Arizona Department of Health Services will cover actions you can take to prevent, recognize, and treat a heat-related illness in order to protect yourself, your family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

Session participants will learn about:

  • Heat-related illness risk factors and statistics
  • How to prevent, recognize, and treat heat-related illness
  • How to stay safe while working in the heat
