There are many benefits of breastfeeding, not only for the dyad but for employers too. Businesses that provide worksite lactation accommodations have a 3:1 return on investment because of lower health costs, decreased absenteeism, lower turnover rates, improved productivity, and employee loyalty. Breastfeeding parents returning to work need lactation support from their employers to be successful in their breastfeeding journey. Employers often want to support breastfeeding families but require need clarification on breastfeeding policies and the requirements for implementing a lactation room.
Andrea Gloria, MPH, RDN, IBCLC, will give an overview of the Arizona breastfeeding laws and share tips and resources on how to implement a lactation room and improve lactation support in the workplace.
