Mirella Monica Mircescu, MD with Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center

Mirella Monica Mircescu, MD is a faculty physician with Dignity Health Medical Group. She is board certified in Infectious Disease and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and has 20-plus years’ experience as an infectious disease specialist in the department of Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Mircescu’s experience with infectious diseases includes HIV and related illnesses, infections in cancer, and other immuno-compromising states. She also has a personal and research interest in fungal infections, including aspergillosis, mucomycosis and coccidiomycosis.

Dr. Mircescu is fluent in Romanian. She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and American Medical Association. Dr. Mircescu earned her medical degree from Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania, where she graduated in the top five percent of her class. Dr. Mirecescu completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the infectious disease fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Her mission is to focus on innovative clinical care and the pursuit of excellence through scholarly activities. She believes this allows her to provide her patients with state-of-the-art services and exceptional experiences.
