When a working-age individual contracts a vaccine preventable disease (like whooping cough or flu), it impacts the company’s bottom line.
When a person is sick, they stay home from work… or worse, they come in and spread germs and diseases to colleagues! Children are usually “covered” because school requirements help make sure they receive the life-saving immunizations available in their doctor’s office. But many adults don’t receive annual well care and aren’t aware they need vaccines too. Adding to these problems, adults with chronic health conditions need certain immunizations that their friends and colleagues without those health problems don’t receive.
In this session, The Arizona Partnership for Immunization (TAPI) and Maricopa County Department of Public Health questions about the confusing adult vaccine schedule, why vaccines are safe, and how to prove the cost effectiveness of adult immunizations.
